Sea World is situated on the Queensland Gold Coast and is probably the oldest coastal strip’s theme park, it was created in 1958 as the Surfers Paradise Ski Gardens at Carrara and soon after it was renamed and relocated to Sea World Drive in 1971.
It remains a showcase of deep-sea life wonders and a park where you can enjoy numerous rides, shows and other attractions.
Water skiing and Dolphin Shows
For many years its premium event has been the waterski show where water skiers complete acrobatic tricks and tricks. Then there is the dolphin show where dolphins swim about, do well rehursed jumps, and generally partake in showing off.
Shark Bay
One of its more recent attractions is Shark Bay (which should to be compared with Shark Bay in Western Australia) where not only can you view sharks swimming about but you can also swim with the sharks as well.
And now there are some baby polar bears Hudson and Nelson, and their parents Lia and Lutik, can be found at the Polar Bear Shores.
How to Get there?
Sea World is can be found at Sea World Drive, The Spit, Main Beach, it is nearly three kilometers to the north of Surfers Paradise on Queensland’s Gold Coast.
If you are going to be driving then you should take the Gold Coast Highway north at Surfers Paradise, and follow the signs as it is clearly marked. If coming from Southport you need to cross over the Southport Bridge then take a left turn and follow the signs, again it is well sign posted. Coming from the Pacific Motorway you must take the Smith St exit.
There is free car parking available at the front entrance of Sea World. Special parking areas are also available for disabled drivers, these are located next to the main entrance.
You can also get bus tours and services directly to Sea World from Surfers Paradise, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and most other parts of Queensland. These services run frequently, however it is best to check availability before you decide to travel.
