Australia, Commonwealth of Australia is a country situated in the south. Australia is one world’s smallest continent and a number of islands in the South Pacific and the Indian Ocean. The neighboring countries include Australia: Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, New Caledonia,  East Timor and New Zealand.

Australia has been inhabited for over 500 years by the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. After several expedition’s and random surveys in the 17th Century, the British claimed the eastern half of the country in 1770. Britain officially settled as a penal colony of New South Wales in January 1788. The population has rapidly in Australia as new areas were examined. As a result of the five other settlements in Corona were in succession in the 19th Century.

Janvier 1901 in six colonies federated to the Commonweal of Australia. Australia currently has a population of about twenty two million, concentrated in eastern coastal city of Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane.
